Several places in Uttar Pradesh have received light to moderate rain and thundershowers since yesterday with Maharajganj recording maximum precipitation of 7 CMs.
The Met office said moderate to heavy rain/thundershowers occurred at isolated places over eastern region.
Chief amount of rainfall was recorded at Lalitpur (4 CMs), Hamirpur, Mau (2 CMs each), Karchana, Frenada, Kanpur, Karvi, Khalilabad, Mauranipur, Aonla and Jalesar (1 CM each).
Day temperature rose in Gorakhpur, Bareilly divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions over the state.
They were markedly below normal in Jhansi division, appreciable below normal in Kanpur and Agra divisions, below normal in Moradabad division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Highest maximum temperature was 40.2 degree Celsius recored at Etawah.
