Rains in UP: 3 die, rivers continue to flow above danger mark

Three more persons today died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll to 139 this season.

Three people lost their lives in Allahabad in rain related incidents, officials said.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall today occurred at various places in the state where major rivers continued to flow above the danger mark, MeT officials said.

Karhal received 12 cm rainfall, followed by Kanpur dehat at 11 cm and Bindki 8 cm. Katerniaghat, Mauranipur and Baberu received 7 cm rainfall each, they said.

Ganga was flowing close to the danger level from Fatehgarh to Kanpur. Sharda was flowing above the red mark at Paliakalan in Lakhimpur district, Central Water Commission officials said.
 

Ghaghra was flowing above the danger level at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia, while Rapti was above the red mark at Birdghat in Gorakhpur.

Quano was above danger level at Mukhlispur in Sant Kabir Nagar.
