Rains keep mercury down, MeT forecasts more

An overcast sky and intermittent rains in the national capital kept the mercury down today.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below season's average, a MeT official said.

"Palam received 1.2 mm rainfall while Lodhi Road received 3.1 mm rainfall between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM today," the official said.

Humidity oscillated between 73 and 95 per cent.

In its forecast, the MeT office said, "Skies will be generally cloudy. Light rains or drizzle could occur in parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 33 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively."
 

Yesterday, the maximum temperature and minimum temperatures were recorded at 33.7 and 25.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
