Three persons, including two boys, were swept away by river waters which flooded vast areas following torrential rains in Birbhum district today.
A district official said, a 50-year-old man was crossing a flooded cause-way over Hinglow river when he was swept away by currents in Labhpur today.
In a similar incident, two boys were similarly swept away in Laghata area while crossing a bridge over Kuye river during the day, the official said, adding, none of them could be traced till now.
Heavy rains lashed the district for the past three days inundating villages.
