Rains today lashed few parts of Punjab and Haryana, with maximum temperatures remaining far below normal level in most parts of both the states.
Union Territory Chandigarh had a high of 36.8 degrees Celsius, a MeT department report said today.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal settled at 35.2 degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Celsius and 34.4 degrees Celsius respectively, down by up to eight notches below normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar witnessed showers at 0.6 mm and it recorded its maximum at 30.8 degrees Celsius which was eight degrees below normal.
Ludhiana, which saw rainfall of 0.5 mm, had high of 34.2 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal.
Among other places, Patiala settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
The MeT department has predicted moderate to heavy rains at many places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
