Rains lash HP, mercury dips

The rains also triggered landslides at numerous places blocking the link roads in interiors of Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Kullu districts.

Gaggal in Kangra district was wettest in the region with 115 mm rains.

Elsewhere, Pandoh recorded 95 mm rainfall, followed by Gohar at 92 mm, Dharamsala 85 mm and Palampur 52 mm.

The maximum temperature dropped from 24.6 deg C to 21.6 deg C in Shimla.

Una was the hottest in the region with a high of 35.6 deg C.
