Intermittent rains continued to lash Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir since yesterday.
Srinagar, which recorded a rainfall of 5.2 mm, recorded minimum 19.2 degrees Celsius against yesterday's 21.2 deg C, MeT officials said.
The people of Kashmir, most of whom are in the midst of the fasting month of Ramazan, offered special prayers for rains in almost all mosques and shrines yesterday as the scorching heat has left most of the rivulets dry and even caused a drop in levels in rivers and other water bodies, thereby affecting power generation and farming activities.
