Rains lash national capital

Scattered rains lashed various parts of the national capital today, bringing some relief for the people from muggy weather.

Cloud cover enveloped the city in the afternoon and various parts of Delhi received rainfall, the MeT department said.

There were traces of rains in central Delhi's Lodhi Road area, whereas Najafgarh in south-west Delhi recorded 16 mm of showers. Delhi University and ridge areas received 4 mm and 3.4 mm of rains respectively

The day's maximum and minimum temperatures remained normal at 34.3 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively, the department said, adding that the humidity level oscillated between 61 and 98 per cent.
 

Yesterday, Delhi had received 31.6 mm of rainfall.

Met department has predicted a partly cloudy sky for tomorrow, with possibility of light rains or thundershowers in some areas.

The maximum and the minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 35 and 24 degrees Celsius.
