Moderate to heavy rains occurred in some areas of Himachal Pradesh, leading to a marginal drop in mercury.
The MeT office has issued warning of heavy rains at some places in lower, mid and higher hills on July 25 and 26.
Amb in Una district was the wettest in the region with 62-mm rains. Gaggal and Nahan received 59-mm and 56-mm of rainfall, followed by Jogindernagar 43-mm, Palampur 41-mm, Kasauli 35-mm, Una and Aghar 29-mm, Nadaun 28-mm, Mandi 21-mm, Mehre 20-mm, Shimla and Bilaspur 19-mm, Nagrota Saurian 17-mm, Mashobra and Sundernagar 16-mm, and Hamirpur and Baijnath 15-mm.
The sky remained heavily overcast and fog engulfed the region and maximum temperature dropped by a few notches in most areas of the state. Una was the hottest at 34 degrees Celsius.
Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded maximum temperatures at 33.3 and 33.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Solan 29.0, Dharamsala 28.6, Nahan 26.7, Shimla 24.2 and Kalpa 23.2 degrees Celsius.
There was no significant change in minimum temperatures and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal areas recorded a low of 12.9 and 14.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Manali 15.6, Shimla 16.6, Palampur 18.5, Nahan 19.4, Solan 20.7, Dharamsala and Bhuntar 21.6, Sundernagar 22.1 and Una 24.3 degrees Celsius.
The MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers across the state for six days from tomorrow.
