Rains lash parts of Himachal Pradesh

Several parts of Himachal Pradesh were lashed by moderate to heavy intermittent rainfall today.

Nahan was the wettest place in the state receiving 87 mm rains, followed by Nadaun 43mm, Kasauli 40 mm, Kangra 19 mm, Dharamsala 13 mm, Shimla 12 mm and Solan 11 mm. The rains led to marginal fall in the mercury.

Eight out of twelve districts of the state recorded deficit rainfall, while Solan had 21 per cent excess rainfall and Shimla, Mandi and Una witnessed normal rainfall, the MeT department said.

Una in Shivalik foothills recorded a high of 32.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar 29.7 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 29 degrees Celsius, Dharamshala 28.4 degrees Celsius and Solan 25.4 degrees Celsius.
 

Minimum temperatures also dropped marginally and Keylong was the coldest at 11.1 degrees Celsius, while Kalpa and Manali recorded a low of 13 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively.

The MeT department has predicted heavy rains at isolated places in lower, mid and higher hills next week.
