Rains lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana since last evening, leading to a dip in temperature.
Chandigarh received incessant rains since last evening and the showers continued till early morning, a MeT Department official said today.
Most parts of Punjab including Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ropar, and Mohali also received rains.
In Haryana, Ambala, Panchkula, and Yamunanagar were among other places to receive rains.
The rains led to a dip in temperature, giving relief to the people from hot weather that had prevailed in the two states and their common capital Chandigarh over the past three days.
