Rains lash parts of Raj ; fog affects train services

Moderate to heavy rains today lashed several parts of Rajasthan while poor visibility due to fog affected movement of trains.

Barring western districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer, intermittent rains occurred in the entire state including Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Pilani, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Mount Abu, Churu and Sriganganagar in the range of 1 to 15 mm, a MeT department report said.

Paharai, Tatgarh and Bar recorded the maximum rainfall of 3 cms till 8 AM, it said.

Due to dense fog in neighbouring states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, an NWR spokesperson said.

He said that one train between Sriganganagar and Jammu Tawi was rescheduled.
 

Sealdah-Ajmer train is running late by 9:10 hrs and Howrah-Jodhpur train is running late by 5:35 hrs, he said.

The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Sriganganagar at 9.8 degree Celsius. Elsewhere, the minimum temperature was recorded in the range of 10 and 15 degrees.

The state capital received moderate rains since last night with 12 mm being recorded till 8 AM.

The mercury shot up by one to six degrees at most places last night, the report said.

According to a MeT department forecast, inclement weather would continue for the next 24 hours in the state.
