Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Punjab and some parts of Haryana today, with the MeT office here attributing the change in weather to a Western Disturbance.
Strong winds hit Chandigarh and its surrounding areas in the wee hours followed by heavy rains and thunder storm.
The minimum temperature here settled at 15.9 degrees Celsius.

Several places in Punjab were lashed by rains including Ludhiana, which received heavy downpour.
Among other places which received showers include Amritsar, Faridkot, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Ropar, Gurdaspur, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib.
A few places in northern parts of Haryana including Panchkula and Ambala received rains.
The minimum temperatures in the two states settled within normal range today.
A MeT official said that the current change in the weather was due to a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood, whose affect will last until tomorrow.
"There is possibility of rains in some parts of Punjab while the weather will be partly cloudy in Haryana," he added.
