Light to moderate rains lashed a few places in Punjab and Haryana including Chandigarh today, causing maximum temperatures to drop sharply.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal level, the local MeT Department report said, forecasting generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in the city tomorrow.
In Haryana, Ambala, which received rainfall, witnessed a sharp decrease in its maximum temperature at 29.8 degrees Celsius, eight notches below normal.

Hisar and Bhiwani recorded identical highs of 34.8 degrees Celsius each, five and four notches below normal respectively while Narnaul's high settled at 34 degrees Celsius, down six notches.
In Punjab, Amritsar, which received light rains, registered a maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal, while Patiala recorded 31 and Ludhiana 32 degrees Celsius, both seven notches below normal.
According to MeT forecast valid for next two days, light to moderate rain would occur at a few places in Haryana and Punjab.
