Monsoon remained active over Himachal Pradesh as most parts of the state were today lashed by intermittent rains, leading to a drop in mercury by a few notches.
In capital Shimla, which received 31 mm of rainfall, the day temperature dropped to 19.5 degrees from 24 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.
Gaggal in Kangra registered 52 mm of showers, followed by Sundernagar 50 mm, Amb 39, Kasauli 34, Solan 25, Jogindernagar and Dharamsala 31 mm each, Bangana and Chelsea 20 mm, Jubbarhatti 19 mm and Manali 15 mm.
The weather remained cloudy in the region and thick fog occurred in lower and mid hills, affecting the vehicular traffic.
Una recorded maximum temperature at 32.8 degrees against 34.5 degrees Celsius of yesterday, whereas Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded maximums of 26.3 and 27 degrees against yesterday's 31.4 and 32.6 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, while Dharamsala recorded a maximum temperature of 26.8 degrees, Solan and Kalpa registered 25 and 19.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
Keylong recorded the lowest temperature of 10.2 degrees, while Kalpa and Shimla recorded a low of 12 degrees Celsius each, followed by Manali 14.8, Solan 15.4, Sundernagar 17.6, Bhuntar 19.2 and Una 22.8 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT forecast, widespread rains are likely to occur in the state during next 48 hours.
