Rains today lashed various parts of Punjab and Haryana, causing dip in temperatures.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 29.4 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal and received rainfall of 4 mm, the MeT Department said.
Ambala recorded the highest temperature among the two states at 32.4 degrees Celsius, while mercury in Hisar and Karnal settled at 35 and 33 degrees Celsius respectively.

Ambala and Karnal received 0.5 mm and 0.4 mm of rainfall respectively, it said.
Maximum temperature in Amritsar was 35.7 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala registered maximum temperature of 28.7 and 32.2 degrees Celsius respectively, the weatherman said.
Ludhiana and Patiala also received 77 mm and 2 mm of rains respectively.
The Department has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the two states tomorrow.
