Rains lashes Pb, Har; Minimum temperature above normal levels

Light to moderate rains today lashed several parts of Punjab and Haryana, adding chill in the weather, even as minimum temperatures rose by several notches above normal in both the states.

Union Territory Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 17.8 degrees Celsius, up by 8 degrees above normal. The city witnessed rainfall of 7.1 mm, an MET department report said today.

Among other parts of Punjab, Amritsar minimum temperature settled at 9.4 degrees Celsius and it received 23.8 mm of rain. Ludhiana, and Patiala recorded their minimum temperature at 17.1 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius, receiving 4.2 mm and 5.4 mm of railfall respectively.
 

In neighouring Haryana, Ambala recorded rainfall of 11.8 mm while its minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius, seven notches above normal, the weatherman said.

Rainfall in Hisar and Karnal was 1.4 mm and 2.8 mm while their minimum temperature settled at 17.8 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded their lows at 18.2 degrees Celsius and 15.2 degrees Celsius.
