The torrential rains not only wrecked havoc on normal life in the country's financial capital but also affected several Bollywood stars, who found it difficult to reach their respective shooting sites.

"Zombification. Waking up at 5:45 am everyday is not my scene. And driving through waterlogged Mumbai - most definitely not," actress Sonakshi Sinha posted on twitter.

Actor Kunal Kemmu said, "Driving to shoot hoping don't need a motorboat on the way back #MumbaiRains."

"I love the rains .. But how come the traffic quadruples during a downpour...??" actress Juhi Chawla wrote on twitter.

Actress Bipasha Basu posted a video of the rain and wrote, "Main Pareshaan Pareshaan was playing in the background as I observe my street turn into Venice."

Several Bollywood stars like Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Ranveer Shorey criticised the infrastructure shortcomings of the city.

"I think the Mumbaikar tax-payers money is used to block the city's drainage system. #everyyearsamestory," Akhtar said.

Hydari posted, "We all #NeedABoat #InfrastructureFail #MumbaiMonsoon."

"Same thought every year: If a city gets this kind of rain in the monsoon & still ends up short of water in summer, it's ill managed! #Mumbai," Shorey said.

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha tweeted, "Been in Mumbai 25 years. Same routine. Rains heavily. City gets stalled. Politicians look serious. Nothing changes.
