Rains to continue in Odisha

Rains are likely to continue in many areas of Odisha with heavy rainfall at some places in southern districts till tomorrow under the impact of a well marked low pressure area in the region.

Rain and thundershower would occur at many places over the state during next 24 hours, the meteorological centre here said today.

Under the impact of the well marked low pressure, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of southern Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph and gusting up to 50 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast. Fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, the Met office said.
 

It said yesterday's well marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha-West Bengal coasts, which triggered rains in many areas, now lies over Odisha and adjoining Chattisgarh.
