Rains triggered landslides at various places in Himachal Pradesh blocking several roads, while the flood situation in Assam improved.
At present around 28,000 people in three districts of Assam are still affected by the latest wave of deluge which has claimed 75 lives.
Till yesterday, 56,000 people in four districts were affected by the floods.
As many as 159 people have lost their lives in this year's floods.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) 28,882 people in Dhemaji, Morigaon and Nagaon districts remain affected and 9,650 hectare of farm land are inundated.
With people returning to their homes, relief camps set up by district administrations have also been reduced to four which are sheltering 178 people, it said.
It was a sunny day in the national capital with the maximum temperature settling at 35.1 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the minimum was 26.5 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels oscillated between 96 and 49 per cent.
Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh as the monsoon remained active in the mid and lower hills, leading to a drop of two to three degrees in minimum temperature.
Day temperatures also dropped marginally with Una recording a high of 34 degrees Celsius followed by Bhuntar 33 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 31.4 degrees Celsius, Dharamshala 26.8 degrees Celsius and Shimla 24.7 degrees Celsius.
Naina Devi was wettest in the state with 81 mm of rain followed by Pandoh 47 mm, Arki 35 mm, Pachhad and Rajgarh 26 mm each, Sujanpurtira 24 mm and Jogindernagar 33 mm.
Heavy rain is likely to lash isolated places in sub- Himalayan districts of West Bengal, while scattered rainfall is likely in the southern parts of the state.
Jalpaiguri in the sub-Himalayan region received 83 mm of rain since yesterday while Coochbehar gauged 26 mm of precipitation during the period.
Rainfall occurred in parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Lakshadweep.
Thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya.
