A police constable was today arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 35,000 here, police said.
The constable, posted at Bani Park police station, was arrested by the Anti-corruption Bureau of Rajasthan Police for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 from Manna Lal in a 2015 case, they said.
The constable allegedly demanded the amount to delay the filing of challan in a court in a case of cheating against Manna Lal.
The accused had accepted Rs 2,000 on last Saturday and was held today while accepting the remaining Rs 33,000 of the bribe, Additional SP (ACB) Narottam Lal Verma said.
A case has been registered against the accused constable, the ASP said.
