Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said her government through efficient financial management had put Rajasthan among the leading states in India in terms of development and welfare schemes.
"The state under Rs 2 lakh crores debt when we came to power three years back. We accepted the challenge and through efficient financial management put Rajasthan among the leading states in India in terms of development and welfare schemes," she said in a meeting today with civic administration officials here.
Directing officials to develop Jodhpur as a tourist city, Raje said, "Every developmental work should be aimed at keeping the heritage value of Jodhpur and its tourism potential in mind. Hence the focus should on beautification of the city."

The Chief Minister asked Jodhpur Municipal Corporation officials to increase revenue collection to meet financial needs for various developmental works instead of searching for funds from the state government.
Raje in her two-day visit to the city, which concluded today, dedicated 14 developmental projects-worth Rs 762 crores.
The projects include construction of residential complexes by JDA, reconstruction of 40-year-old sewerage lines, water projects for Phalodi Zone, and construction of government offices and a residential complex MDM Hospital doctors.
