An Assitant Public Prosecutor at the ACJM court here was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team of Kota for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 in a four-year-old dowry harassment case, police said.
Hari Singh Meena, a resident of Aterampura village in Bharatpur district, was arrested yesterday from Gumapur area by ACB team of Kota for demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 to shield Jagdish Vaishnav's parents in a dowry case registered against all three of them, Ramesh Chand Arya, Inspector at ACB, Kota Special Unit, said.
Jagdish's brother, Om Prakash Viashnav, had in November 2011 filed a complaint with the ACB, which then laid a trap but failed to arrest Meena. However, a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the IPC in January 2012 and probe started, he said.

Meena was yesterday arrested and produced before a court which sent him to judicial custody till January 4, Arya said adding that he immediately filed a bail application due to be heard today.
Taking cognisance of the matter, the court has granted deparmental sanction for prosecution against Meena, who is currently suspended, Arya said.
