Raj BJP MLA tenders apology over his remarks about Ambedkar

A Rajasthan BJP MLA whose comments on Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had created a controversy tendered an apology in the state assembly today.

Vijay Bansal tendered the apology saying he regrets his comments and he and his party respects Ambedkar.

His apology came a day after chief minister Vasundhara Raje said yesterday that it was her party's clear stand that Ambedkar was a respectable leader and the architect of the Constitution.

Bansal had made the comments in the house on Monday which had invited sharp reaction from both BJP and Congress members.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore had to tender an apology in the house on Monday for Bansal's comments.
 

The opposition had also raised objected in the Assembly on Manday.
