The BJP today demanded the removal of some senior police and government officials in poll-bound Rajasthan, claiming that their relatives are in politics.
In a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Jain, chief whip of BJP's legislative party Rajendra Rathore demanded the removal of additional chief secretary (home) Ashok Sampatram, DGP Harish Meena and additional DGP Navdeep Singh as their kin are active in politics.
He also demanded that allowances, perks and other benefits be stopped to government officials as this violates the model code for the Assembly polls slated for December 1.
While Meena's brother is a Congress minister, Singh's wife is a Congress MLA, said BJP leader Kailash Bhat.
