Nine candidates of ruling BJP and six of Opposition Congress were elected unopposed in civic polls scheduled for November 22 after withdrawal of nominations.
They were declared elected as there were no contestants left in the fray after withdrawal of candidature for 46 municipal bodies including six municipal corporations, Rajasthan State Election Commission (RSEC) said today.
BJP's candidates won uncontested in two wards each in Bhiwari Nagar Parishad, Bhinmal Nagar Parishad, Bisau and one each in Balotra, Jodhpur Nagar Nigam, and Kanod Nagar Palika.

While Congress' candidates got elected unopposed, two wards of Phalodi Nagar Palika and one each in Barmer Nagar Parishad, Bhinmal Nagar Parishad, Sikar Nagar Parishad and Barmer Nagar Parishad, according to the report of Rajasthan State Election Commission (RSEC).
Finally, after withdrawal of nominations, altogether 7,392 candidates are now left in fray for 1,681 wards of 46 civic bodies.
EVM's will be used in the polls and results will be announced on November 25. Subsequently, the election of municipal chairman and mayors in six corporations will take place on November 26.
Six municipal corporations of Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur and Bharatpur, 18 municipal councils and 22 municipalities will go for polls that are taking place after five years.
Over 63.09 lakh electors will cast their votes at 6,135 polling booths in 1,696 wards. Congress and BJP have fielded their candidates in almost every ward.
