As the date for local civic body polls in Rajasthan approached, ruling BJP and opposition Congress today geared up their campaign to woo voters using development as the poll plank.

Rajasthan Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria called upon people to vote for BJP in the elections slated for November 22 for their district area development in a time-bound manner.

Addressing public meetings in Pindwara, Sirohi and Shivganj area in Sirohi district and Pali, he said development of local areas will take place in a time-bound manner if ruling BJP candidates win in these elections.

Meanwhile, PCC President Sachin Pilot asked party workers to work with full dedication to ensure victory of Congress candidates.

Party workers should leave no stone unturned in this regard, the former Union Minister said at public meetings in Beawar (Ajmer), Pali, Sirohi and Jalore.

"The government has deprived people of the benefits of many schemes which were initiated by the former Congress government," he said.

The PCC President said that his party has given tickets to many young candidates and hoped that they would get a good response from the voters.
