Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje began the second leg of her Gaurav Yatra from Jaisalmer today by paying obeisance at the Tanot Mata temple and the shrine of local deity Baba Ramdeo near Pokhran.

In her public address, Raje remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the second atomic test and her association with him.

He established India as the world power by conducting the atomic test. Had it been somebody else, he would have backed off due to international pressure. But Vajpayee remained determined and battled the UN sanctions, said Raje.

In an attempt to strike a chord with the gathering, Raje called the entire state her family and termed herself as the mother of "this family".

Entire state is my family and I am the mother. A mother fight for the welfare of her family and you all know that how difficult it is, she said.

Raje appealed to the people to make history by bringing the BJP back to the power as she unleashed a series of announcements for the district.

If re-elected, she assured to address important issues like the distribution of irrigated land and the management plan for the villages under the Desert National Park.

She also assured to soon complete Pokran Balotra Lift Project for drinking water and Indira Gandhi Canal Project for irrigation.

We have expedited work on the Pokran Balotra Lift Project, which was stuck since 2005 and have provisioned Rs. 4000 crores for IGNP to facilitate irrigation on 1.8 lakh hectare agriculture land, said Raje.

Earlier, Raje addressed a group of women and called upon them to understand their strength.

Strong and independent women encourage me and my strength and determination multiplies seeing them and being with them, Raje said.
