Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed the officials of power distribution companies to ensure adequate supply of electricity in the Rabi season so that farmers in the state do not face any difficulties.
At a review meeting of the energy department at the CMO here, Raje directed that the remaining agricultural connections in the current financial year be released.
She said that distribution losses have to be brought down and also called for the streamlining of the electricity supply.

Reviewing the plan prepared by power companies to ensure 24-hour domestic power supply in the rural areas, the chief minister sought timely execution of the same.
Special vigilance should be undertaken to check accidents, Raje said while seeking proper maintenance of equipments and electricity lines.
Energy Secretary Sanjay Malhotra told the meeting that works were in progress which would bring down the time for feeder change to 5 minutes from 30-40 minutes.
The Minister of State for Energy, Pushpendra Singh, Chief Secretary CS Rajan, Principal Secretary (Finance) PS Mehra, Secretary (Water Resources) Ajitabh Sharma, Adviser (Energy Department) RG Gupta were present at the meeting along with the Ajmer and Jodhpur discom MDs.
Earlier in the day, Raje held a meeting of all ministers to discuss issues related to the Panchayat Raj elections early next year in Rajasthan and decided to carry out re-organisation of some panchayats before the polls.
She also delegated tasks to the ministers to overview the civic body polls which are due later this month on Nov. 25.
