Raj: Excise officer held for graft

An excise officer was arrested on Tuesday for accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officer said.

The accused patrolling officer-- Prithvi Singh Rajput was posted in the district's Nawalgarh town and had demanded the bribe as a monthly payment from the complainant, Rajkumar Jat, for letting him operate in his area, ACB Inspector Shabbir Khan said.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
