Raj governor, CM pay tributes to Vajpayee

Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and leaders across the political divide paid floral tributes to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at a prayer meeting organised by the BJP here today.

Vajpayee died on August 16 at the age of 93 following prolonged illness.

Recalling the days when he worked with the BJP stalwart, Singh said he learnt a lot from him.

He said there should be no enmity even if there are differences in thoughts.

The chief minister said Vajpayee's thinking was beyond politics and she had a family-like relations with him.

His life was an inspiration to all, she said.

 

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot said the former prime minister served the country for decades beyond the limits of caste, religion and region.

He said he always took along the opposition which shows his simplicity.
