The Rajasthan government today reiterated its commitment to proper development of cow sheds and claimed it is providing adequate grants to the registered 'gaushalas' for the purpose.

Minister of State for Cooperatives and Gopalan Ajay Singh Kilak reiterated the commitment dismissing allegations of irregularities in grants to the cow sheds (gaushalas) made by the opposition Congress during Zero Hour.

Replying to a query by Congress MLA Sukhram Bishnoi, the minister said the government is providing Rs 141 crore annually to 1,148 registered cow sheds in the state.

Kilak added that there are 6.68 lakh bovines in state and 5.59 lakh of them are being provided grants.

All registered cow sheds are being provided grants as per the rules and there is no irregularity, he said.
