Rajasthan government today directed senior police officers to not transfer station house officers of police stations for at least a year so that they can focus on work properly.

If necessary, the SHOs should be shifted only on written permission from range IG, Home minister Gulab Chand Kataria said during a review meeting with Additional Chief Secretary A Mukhopadhyay, DGP Manoj Bhatt and other senior police officers.

Kataria said repeated transfers of SHOs affect their functioning and they, therefore should not be moved for at least a year.

He also asked the officers to ensure that the SHO once transferred from a police station should not return to the same police station.

The police should arrange vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras to take prisoners from jail to courts for hearing and asked the SPs to do proper monitoring of this arrangement, the Minister said.
