The Rajasthan government today said it will conduct a survey of surplus water in two to three river basins, including that at Mahi, which flows from the state into neighbouring Gujarat.

The water in two to three river basins is surplus and it flows into Gujarat, Rajasthan Water Resources Minister Rampratap said replying to supplementary questions in the Question Hour of the Rajasthan Assembly here.

"The Rajasthan government is serious on this issue and a solution will be found after conducting the survey," he said.

Replying to another question, state PHED Minister Surendra Goyal said drinking water will be provided through tankers to people living in areas, including deserts, facing water scarcity.

The minister said laboratories will also test samples from different water bodies in the state.

Goyal said the state has approved and released funds for repairing 113 partially and 11 fully damaged water bodies in Pokaran in Jaisalmer district.
