Raj govt to connect all villages in state by roads by 2018

Public Works Department Minister Yunus Khan today said the government was aiming to connect every village of the state with roads by the year 2018.

Replying to a debate on demand for grant, Khan, in the Assembly, said, the government will fulfill the promises related to road projects and will make Rajasthan a model state in roads.

He in his reply announced to make a pedestrian way on Laxmangarh-Salasar and Ratangarh-Salasar roads to provide a separate walkway for pilgrims going to Salasar Balaji temple.

He informed the House that 10,289 people died in 24,628 road accidents in the state in 2014 and now the government will run a special campaign to create awareness for road safety in all the 9,900 Gram Panchayats in the state.
 

The minister said that the government has started work on construction of 20,000 kms of mega highway under PPP mode.

After the reply, the demands for grants were passed by voice vote.
