Rajasthan Government is all set to chalk out a new policy on the electricity requirement for agricultural purposes and related issues, Energy Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said today.

During a tour of his constituency Lohawat in Jodhpur, Khinvsar said the farmers policy would ensure adequate and hassle-free provisioning of power distribution and supply and agricultural connections.

"All the works related to the agricultural power needs will be provisioned in this policy," he said.

"We have govt about 1.5 lakh pending domestic power connection files from the previous government and the demand notes will be issued against the files, which had been presented in the department before the assembly election," he said, adding that fresh applications would also be accepted.

He said that 24-hour power supply will be ensured in every town, village and hamlet within a year. "We will not back off from our promises in any of the field or sector," Khinvsar said.
