Forest areas in Rajasthan which have reported high rate of encroachment and illegal mining will be given top priority for the construction of boundary walls around them, state government said today.
Replying to a question related with forest department in the legislative assembly, Cooperative Minister Parsadi Lal Meena said boundary wall will be constructed to protect forest areas from trespassing at various locations across the state.
The minister also attributed rising cases of illegal mining and cutting of trees to the rising need of resources.
Legislator Gyarsaram Koli had asked the government regarding the overall plan for protection of animals and forest area in the state and demanded construction of a boundary wall to protect Bhil ka Bada area in Kela Devi forest.
Meena, who replied on behalf of Forest Minister Bina Kak in her absence, said that the proposal was with district collector and will be considered.
In reply to another question, Education Minister B K Sharma informed the house that Rajasthan ranked top 7 in student-teacher ratio.
He said that the national student-teacher ratio is 31:1 whereas Rajasthan's ratio is 28:1 after Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
