Lawyers in Rajasthan continued their strike against police lathicharge on advocates in Jaipur last week and performed 'Sadbudhi Yagnas' in district courts for "good sense" to the police.
"Today was the nationwide strike called by the Bar Council of India in protest of lathicharge on lawyers in Jaipur and Chandigarh few days back though we were on the strike since March 6.
"Today we performed 'yagnas' for good sense to police," Rajkumar Sharma, a representative of the advocates' Sangharsh Samiti-Jaipur, said.

Lawyers in other districts also boycotted work in support of the advocates.
"Police used force on us when we were peacefully pressing our demands near the Assembly which left over 30 advocates injured on March 6.
"Next day also, police beat our colleagues without any reason near the sessions court and clashed with us. It was one-sided action by the police so we were on strike since then," he claimed.
Police sources said the stir was peaceful and there were no reports of clashes or untoward incidents in the state.
