Stern action against those involved in scuffle at PWD office: Khan

He said 'whatever happened in the office was being examined by the govt and notices to some employees have already been issued'

State Public Works Department Minister Yunus Khan today assured the House that stern action would be taken against all those involved in a scuffle that occurred at PWD office this week.

Independent MLA M C Surana raised the issue during Zero Hour and said that the scuffle broke out between engineers and other employees in PWD department and demanded a reply from the minister on the issue.

Khan said "whatever happened in the last four days in the PWD office was being examined by the government and notices to some employees have already been issued."

He said the scuffle took place between some engineers and employees and some outsiders were also present among them and they are being examined.
 

The minister said that FIRs have been lodged by both the sides and appropriate action will be taken.

BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari said that police would take its own course of action but there was no departmental action.

Speaker Kailash Meghwal also asked Khan to be strict on the issue following which the minister assured the House to take strict departmental action against those involved in the incident by today evening.

A scuffle had occurred at PWD office on Tuesday between engineers and other employees to discuss some issue which could not be resolved.

Earlier, the Opposition staged a walk out in protest of reply by Sanwarlal Jat whom they called an "unconstitutional minister" during Question Hour.
