Raj organisations donate Rs 17 lakh for U'khand victims

Various organisations and individuals today handed over cheques amounting Rs 17 lakh in all to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the victims of flash floods in Uttarakhand.

While stating this here today, an official spokesperson said that Township Developers association of Rajasthan gave a cheque of Rs 11.11 lakh whereas Lions Club handed over a cheque of Rs 1.51 lakh.

Other organisations and individuals have also come forward for the help of the affected people in the hill state, he said.

Over 8,000 people remained stranded in Uttarakhand today with fresh landslides, cloudbursts coupled with torrential rains hampering rescue operations as the death toll climbed to 822 with 142 bodies being found, including 127 in Kedarnath.
