Raj sanctions funds for clearance of pension liabilities

Rajasthan government has sanctioned Rs 45.07 crore to agricultural universities of Bikaner and Udaipur to enable them discharge their pension liabilities.

In a note to Raj Bhawan, the government communicated that for 2013-14, sums of Rs 27 crore and 18.07 crore have been sanctioned for Swami Keshvanand Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, an official release said.

The decision was conveyed to Governor Margaret Alva, the Chancellor of state universities, who had drawn government's attention towards financial difficulties being faced by these universities.

The amounts specified have been transferred to the accounts of the universities concerned.
