Raj to hold only one exam for recruiting IIIrd grade teachers

Fulfilling its poll promise, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today announced in the state Assembly to introduce one competitive examination for IIIrd grade teachers in near future.

"There would be one competitive examination under a new label of Recruitment-cum-Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) by abolishing two qualifying exams including one by Zila Parishad", Raje said while delivering her 105 pages Budget speech here.

However, there was no mention in the Budget speech regarding the TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) conducted by the Centre whether the state will continue to follow it or not.

CM announced to set up Rajasthan State Higher Education Foundation for post matric and college level scholarship for the qualifying students.
 

On the sports fronts, CM announced to set up an international level Squash Academy on public-private- partnership, velodrome sports complex in Bikaner, an Organised Archery, Shooting and Equestrian Sports Complex, 18-hole based golf course and six synthetic tennis courts in Jaipur.

Raje's speech also pleased accredited journalist by raising benefits under medical claim policies from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, and accident claim policy for photo journalists.

Every panchayt samiti will have ITI in next 2 years with the support and cooperation of public, she said, adding the self employment would be encouraged in many sector including beauty parlour, motor mechanic, and barber, she added.
