Rajasthan Government will forward a memorandum to the Centre demanding special financial package for farmers of the state who have suffered huge losses due to unseasonal rainfall.
In a meeting chaired by Rajasthan Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria and attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore and Agriculture Minister Prabu Lal Saini, the points to be included in the memorandum were decided.
The ministers decided to prominently mention in the memorandum that maximum benefit of crop insurance must reach to farmers and not to the insurance companies.
The government in the memorandum will also demand adequate compensation to farmers as per the actual losses, a release said.
