Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is upbeat about making 'Raja and the Legend of the Flute' and 'Casual Kamasutra' but his another film project 'Bhairavi' is on the back burner.

With 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' doing reasonably well at the box office, Mehra is simultaneously working on a number of projects like 'Mirza Sahibaan', 'Raja and the Legend of the Flute', 'Casual Kamasutra' and 'Bhairavi'.

"There are quite a few films that I am working on. We are also thinking of working with small town writers and directors. The idea of 'Raja the Legend of the Flute' is going on for seven years. We are working on it and it will take another two to two-and-a-half years," Mehra told PTI.

"It is a larger-than-life story. It talks about mythology and current affairs in the world. Then 'Casual Kamasutra' is under research, it is close to my heart.. I was working as a fabricator in Delhi. In India, the income is imbalanced, it is about that and taking on multinational (companies)," he said.

The film 'Raja and the Legend of the Flute' was earlier titled 'Paanch Kaurav'. The action romance-drama is likely to be made simultaneously in English and Hindi.

However, Mehra's another project 'Bhairavi' does not seem to take off.

"'Bhairavi' is on the back burner. One day when we get opportunity we will make it. Filmmaking is a huge process, it doesn't happen immediately, it takes time," he said.

Mehra is working next on his most talked about film 'Mirza Sahibaan'.

"'Mirza Sahibaan' is ready to take off, it will go on floors in September this year and we will release it by the end of the next year. It is a musical film in a way. It is action-tragedy-romantic film... Now this could be a genre breaking for the country," Mehra said.
