Rajasthan ACB arrests Sarpanch for accepting bribe

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan Police today arrested a Sarpanch (village head) in a bribery case in Sriganganagar district.

Sarpanch of Chunawad village panchayat, Ranveer Kumar, had demanded a bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant for getting a land allotment letter prepared, said ACB ASP Rajendra Prasad Dindoria said.

A trap was laid by the bureau and the village head walked right into it, he added.

The bribe money was recovered from the accused, he said, adding that a case was registered against him.
