First session of the Rajasthan Assembly was today adjourned sine die after passing of four amendments bills related to renaming of varsities, and two new bills on setting up of two new universities in the state.
Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal announced the adjournment sine die after passing of bills by voice vote this evening.
The House which began on January 21 had ten sittings and the interim budget was presented by the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who is also the Finance Minister, and she took the vote on account for first quarter of next fiscal year 2013-14 yesterday.

Brij University at Bharatpur has been renamed as Maharaja Surajmal Brij University in memory of Maharaja Surjamal, the erstwhile ruler of Bharatpur state.
Two bills on setting up two universities in the state, the Pacific Medical University at Udaipur, and the Madhav University at Pindwara (Sirohi), were also passed by vote after a brief debate cutting across party lines in the House.
The house also passed the Rajasthan Forest (Amedment) Bill, 2014 with two major amendments in section 26 and 33 of the act. Earlier, the penalty for contravention of the provision of the act was a maximum fine was Rs 25,000. This was reduced to Rs 500 on tribals who traditionally depend for their sustenance on minor forest produces.
