The two newly-elected MPs and an MLA from Rajasthan, who had won the bypolls last week, today called on Congress President Rahul Gandhi as well as former party chief Sonia Gandhi, a senior Congress leader said.

Karan Singh Yadav and Raghu Sharma, who won the Alwar and Ajmer parliamentary constituencies respectively, took the oath of office before the Lok Sabha was adjourned today, the leader said.

Yadav and Sharma along with Vivek Dhakad, who won the Mandalgarh Assembly seat, met Rahul Gandhi. They were accompanied by Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot and other senior party leaders from the state, including CP Joshi.

With the bypolls victory, the Congress party's strength in the Lok Sabha has gone up to 48. The win was also significant as the Congress had lost all the 25 Parliamentary seats in Rajasthan in the 2014 general elections.
