Rajasthan CM visits S'pore to explore developmental projects

Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje has arrived in Singapore on a four-day official visit to explore possibilities of engagement in different developmental projects including tourism, urban development, infrastructure and drinking water for the state.

Raje, who will also be the Guest of Honour at a business seminar on Wednesday, is heading the delegation comprising senior officials from the state government, a statement from Singapore Foreign Ministry said.

Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam will host an official dinner for Raje today while Foreign Minister K Shanmugam would host an official lunch for her tomorrow.

The delegation, which is seeking to promote investment in the state, will also focus on studying and adopting new models and increasing partnership in sectors like energy, technology, tourism, urban development, infrastructure and drinking water.
 

Raje would also meet Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan, as well as Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry S Iswaran.

The business seminar is organised by the Rajasthan government with support from the Singapore Business Federation, Singapore Manufacturing Federation, Singapore Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Indian Industry.

She will also visit the Institute of Technical Education College Central, the Marina Barrage, the NEWater Visitor Centre and the Land Transport Authority during the visit that ends on Thursday.
