A couple who had allegedly axed a man to death in Rajasthan's Bikaner was sent to judicial custody by a court on Thursday.
The accused--Sita Devi (28) and Jetharam Jat (30)-- had allegedly killed 35-year-old Malaram at their residence in Likhmisar village on Tuesday.
Jetharam Jat (30), who worked as a labourer in Odisha, had come home to celebrate Holi when he came to know about frequent visits of Malaram from his five-year-old daughter.
"She told her father that Malaram used to come almost daily and slept in their house. On suspicion, he asked his wife Sita Devi (28) about the matter. The woman said Malaram was doing it forcibly after which he hatched a conspiracy to kill him," Sheruna police station SHO Gulam Nabi Khan said on Thursday.
On Tuesday, they called Malaram to their home where the couple hit him with sticks and an axe, leaving him dead on the spot.
Next morning, Jethram himself called police saying a body was lying in his home.
