Rajasthan govt to disburse Rs1000cr short-term loan to farmers

The Rajasthan government would disburse Rs 1,000 crore short-term loan to farmers in the rabi season and open seven women consumer stores in the state.

The targets were set by Cooperative Department under its two-month action plan which was given nod by the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje during a review meeting of the Department today.

The Department has also set targets to distribute 1 lakh tonne Urea and 10,000 tonnes DAP through cooperative societies, according to an official release.

Apart from this, 250 new mini banks will be opened in the State and 2,000 farmers will be provided long term loan of Rs 40 crore while disbursement of Rs 15 crore will be made through linkage of 2,500 SHGs by Central Cooperative Banks.
 

MoS Cooperatives Ajay Singh, Chief Secretary Rajiv Mehirshi, ACS (Cooperatives) Rajhans Upadhyay and other officers were present in the meeting.
